Entry requirements
- Bachelor degree in media technology or in a related field with a minimum 180 credits. Examples of related fields include: computer science, informatics, information systems, human-computer interaction, interaction design, media/IT management, game development, media and communication science and digital cultural studies.
- English proficiency equivalent to English 6 from a Swedish upper secondary school.

Knowledge and understanding
By the end of the program students should be able to:
- demonstrate a broad understanding of the field of media technology, and an advanced knowledge of media technology development, with a particular emphasis on strategic innovation, research and development.
- demonstrate advanced knowledge of methodologies in the field of Media Technology.
Competence and abilities
By the end of the course students should be able to:
- critically and systematically integrate knowledge in order to analyze, assess and manage complex problems and situations, particularly in situations with limited access to information,
- critically, independently and creatively identify and formulate research problems, as well as plan and carry out advanced tasks within given time frame,
- clearly communicate and discuss research findings, knowledge created, and any underlying arguments to different audiences, nationally and internationally, both in writing and orally,
- demonstrate skills required to independently participate in research or development work.
Evaluation abilities and approach
By the end of the course students should be able to:
- evaluate media technologies in relation to relevant scientific, societal, and ethical considerations, and show awareness of ethical aspects of research and development,
- show insights into the possibilities and limitations of science, its role in society, and the responsibilities related to its use,
- identify the need for further knowledge and take responsibility for continuous knowledge development.
Degree
Master's Degree (120 credits)
Master of Science (120 credits) in Media Technology.
To earn a master’s degree in Media Technology, students must complete credits, at least 105 credits of which must be within the Media Technology major. This includes 30 credits of master’s thesis. All required courses must be passed. In addition, the student must have completed a bachelor’s degree of at least 180 credits (or the equivalent qualification completed abroad).

The prerequisites for admission to each individual course are provided in the respective syllabi.
A decision to discontinue a programme will result in the programme syllabus ceasing to be valid. However, students will have the opportunity to complete their studies within the nominal period of study(calculated from the last admission to the programme's first semester) andduring at least the following two semesters, known as the ’discontinuation period’.
