The course is part of the main subject area of Business Administration at level 31-60 credits and may be mandatory in the degree requirements for a bachelor's degree in business administration.
The course aims to provide the student with knowledge to develop digital business opportunities, and to give the student the opportunity to develop abilities to work under uncertainty when developing new solutions for existing but also future socially relevant problems (which includes for-profit business ideas as well as social and societal ideas). Within the course, sustainability is handled as a central theme together with underlying ethical aspects, which form the basis of how the student discusses existing business models, how they work to solve societal problems by means of developing business opportunities based on the creation of socially useful and productive entrepreneurial ideas. The student uses her/his competence in digital practices to develop business opportunities that also consider inclusion and exclusion.
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- describe and account for the entrepreneurial process and its various parts
- developed understanding of business modeling and business model innovation when introducing new business opportunities, as well as developed knowledge of digital entrepreneurship
- demonstrate skills in developing digital business ideas
- developed entrepreneurial skills to analyze and come up with entrepreneurial solutions that have societal relevance for businesses that do not yet exist
- demonstrate abilities to develop new solutions and manage uncertainty for future opportunities based on critical, ethical and sustainability aspects
- critically reflect on entrepreneurship and its relationship to digital practices and sustainability

Individual examination (4 credits)( UA) (Learning outcomes 1, 4 and 6)
Digital business idea project in group incl. presentation (3.5 credits) (UA) (Learning outcomes 2-5)
All learning outcomes are assessed individually.
To pass the course, a minimum grade of E is required on all examinations. Information about final course grade will be available in couse documentation provided when the course starts.

Malmö University provides students who participate in, or who have completed a course, with the opportunity to express their opinions and describe their experiences of the course by completing a course evaluation administered by the University. The University will compile and summarise the results of course evaluations. The University will also inform participants of the results and any decisions relating to measures taken in response to the course evaluations. The results will be made available to the students (HF 1:14).
If a course is no longer offered, or has undergone significant changes, the students must be offered two opportunities for re-examination based on the syllabus that applied at the time of registration, for a period of one year after the changes have been implemented.
If a student has a Learning support decision, the examiner has the right to provide the student with an adapted test, or to allow the student to take the exam in a different format.
