Entry requirements

Bachelor's degree, consisting of 180 credits. The equivalent of English 6 in Swedish secondary school.

Programme structure

The aim of the Master’s program is for the students to acquire advanced knowledge and critical understanding of the mutual relationship between societal challenges, leadership and organization in private, public and non-profit sectors as well as knowledge of critical perspectives. After finishing the program the students will be able to move on to PhD studies or to qualified work within e.g. national and international agencies and organizations.

The program is multi-disciplinary and is grounded in the disciplines of Sociology, Pedagogy, Psychology, Business Administration and Political Science. The program is aimed towards students and professionals who are interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of the challenges that organizations and businesses face.

The courses within the main area Leadership and Organization are taught in the first and second semesters. A number of elective courses are offered in the third semester. The fourth semester consists of the mandatory Master’s thesis of 30 credits.

Degree of Master of Arts (120 Credits) with a Major in Leadership and Organisation.

To obtain a degree a minimum of 120 credits is required. At least 90 credits must be second cycle courses within the main area Leadership and Organization. The program's compulsory second and fourth semester courses must be completed and included in the degree.

If a decision about discontinuation of a study programme has been made, the programme syllabus will cease to be in effect, however only after the students have had the opportunity to complete their study programme within nominal study time (calculated based on the final admission to the programme’s first term) and thereafter, as a minimum, during the following two terms, referred to as the “closure period.”
