Course objectives
The aim of this course is to enable students to plan, project manage, contribute to, and edit their own online journal.
Course contents
In this course, students will independently work together to plan, manage, contribute to, and edit their own online journal. Students are invited to use the theoretical and methodological approaches from previous courses, in order to present a diverse collection of articles in a journal format that can accommodate mixed media. Students are encouraged to consider inviting guest authors, artists or other producers for the journal.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of how to synthesise and translate theoretical concepts in cultural studies
- independently produce a written or mixed-media article paying close attention to humanities editorial conventions
- demonstrate the ability to initiate, plan and collaborate on a publication, within a community of peers
- critically read other people’s work and provide constructive editorial feedback
Learning activities
Student group work, supervision, workshops.
Assessment
A journal where learning outcomes 1 and 2 are assessed in the individual articles produced. Learning outcomes 3 and 4 are assessed through supervision of editorial process.

Course evaluation
The University provides all students who are participating in, or have completed, a course to express their experiences and views on the course through a course evaluation which is organized at the end of the course. The university will collate the course evaluations and provide information about their results and any actions prompted by them. The results shall be made available to the students. (HF 1:14).
Interim rules
When a course is no longer given, or the contents have been radically changed, the student has the right to re-take the examination, which will be given twice during a one year period, according to the syllabus which was valid at the time of registration.
