Course objectives

In this course students engage with and learn from specialized research conducted by course teachers. The aim is that students more clearly understand the processes of doing research within the field of study. With reference to a number of theoretical and scholarly texts, students learn how to locate and participate in current debates of a field of specialisation and how to find evidence and critical support for the discussion.

Course contents

The content is dependent upon the field of research chosen by the teacher.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course the student will be able to:
  1. demonstrate knowledge of the field of specialisation;
  2. demonstrate knowledge of the processes of doing research
  3. analyse scholarly texts with a particular attention to the field of the specialisation;
  4. independently locate and discuss critical sources that pertain to the specialisation.
  5. research, design and articulate an independent position paper

Course evaluation

The University provides all students who are participating in, or have completed, a course to express their experiences and views on the course through a course evaluation which is organized at the end of the course. The university will collate the course evaluations and provide information about their results and any actions prompted by them. The results shall be made available to the students. (HF 1:14).

Interim rules

When a course is no longer given, or the contents have been radically changed, the student has the right to re-take the examination, which will be given twice during a one year period, according to the syllabus which was valid at the time of registration.
