The purpose of this course is that the students should produce an absolutely fresh research review of the different fields women and sport, sport science and gender science.

During the course students are expected to search for knowledge about women, gender and sport through scientific journals that include these fields. To enable this kind of review scientific articles in international journals are highly important. The review is expecting to comprise both sport science and gender science journals. The journals are to be studied over a five year period of time and the student will analyze the content in the scientific journals in the intersection of the fields. The course will be terminated by a longer essay where the review is presented.

The course consists of web based learning activities and the language of instruction is English.

All the learning outcomes will be examined individually and in three written examinations.

The criteria for the different grading levels are clarified by the examiner at the start of the course.

Students are given opportunities to influence course content through continual reflections on the course content and methods. The course ends with an individual, written evaluation based on the course purpose and learning outcomes. This evaluation is used as a starting point for an oral evaluation at the end of the course.
