1. Bachelor of Science including at least 180 credits or equivalent foreign degree in political science, or equivalent, and at least 30 credits in the Political Science: Global Politics, Master’s Programme (Two-year) or equivalent.
2.The equivalent of English course B in Swedish secondary school.

Course objectives
The course deepens and develops the theoretical and methodological knowledge, skills and values that students received during the Master programme Political Science: Global politics by providing practical insight into current research.
Course contents
The course provides active participation in research projects related to the Department of Global Political Studies. Supervision is provided by researchers who are active in their chosen research project. The internship covers a semester (minimum 18 and maximum 20 weeks) and is performed during the semester. Students shall seek a suitable internship. It is important that tasks are of a relevant and advanced character, and the internship plan established between representatives of the internship and the student must be approved by the internship coordinator.
Learning outcomes
After the students completed the course Research Internship they should be able to:
- In a qualified way participate in research.
- critically and systematically integrate practical experience and theoretical and methodological knowledge in the field of global politics.
- Independently and in dialogue with others to identify and formulate research problems and the need for further knowledge and information.
- Independently reflect on research ethics and the role of science in society.
- Critically evaluate their own knowledge and identify relevant areas for research.
Learning activities
Teaching is conducted through independent literature studies, tutorials, workshops and active research.
Assessment
Students' achievements will be continuously assessed from written reports and through a final oral presentation of the research in a research seminar.

Course evaluation
Higher education institutions shall enable students who are participating in or have completed a course to express their experiences of and views on the course through a course evaluation to be organised by the higher education institution. The higher education institution shall collate the course evaluations and provide information about their results and any actions prompted by the course evaluations. The results shall be made available to the students. (HF 1:14)
Interim rules
If a course ceases to be available or has undergone any major changes, the students are to be offered two opportunities to retake the examination during the year following the change for re-examination, based on the syllabus which applied at registration.
