The course is not part of a main field of study.
Course objectives
The purpose of the internship is both to give students the opportunity to apply knowledge of their studies, and partly to give the experience of the practical work on the subject at various levels of society, such as information dissemination, training, planning and reporting. The internship must have a clear connection to global politics by participating in the civil society, government or private business.
Course contents
The internship covers a semester (minimum 18 and maximum 20 weeks) and shall be performed during the semester. Students shall seek a suitable internship, for example in international or national government and local authorities, businesses, voluntary organizations, religious organizations, cultural institutions, etc. It is important that tasks are of a relevant and advanced character, and the internship plan established between representatives of the internship and the student must be approved by the internship coordinator.
The internship will be unpaid and must not be located in countries that the State Department advises against entry to.
Learning outcomes
After the student has completed the course internship, the student should be able to:
1) Actively participate in qualified areas of relevance to the field of global politics.
2) to critically and systematically integrate practical experience and theoretical and methodological knowledge in the field of global politics.
3) Critically reflect on practical experience in relation to its own need for further knowledge in the field.
4) Discuss the area's urgency and relevance with regard to social and ethical aspects of a future profession.
5) written and oral presentation with an an analysis of practitioner experience related to the field of global politics.

Practical work with issues related to the programme's themes.
Assessment
The course is assessed through the submission of a supervisor's certificate and an internship report which analyzes the practice and its relation to global politics.

Selected in consultation with the supervisor.
Course evaluation
The University provides students who participate in or who have completed a course with the opportunity to make known their experiences and viewpoints with regards to the course by completing a course evaluation administered by the University. The University will compile and summarize the results of course evaluations as well as informing participants of the results and any decisions relating to measures initiated in response to the course evaluations. The results will be made available to the students (HF 1:14).
Interim rules
If a course is no longer offered or has undergone major changes, students will be offered two re-take sessions based on the syllabus in force at registration during a period of one year from the date of the implementation of the changes.
Additional information
In addition to the above eligibility criteria, an internship requires an agreement, drawn up between representatives of the internship and the student through Malmö University.
